hm, Biore makes these strips of paper you wet down and put where ever you have black or white heads. i think you can get them at any grocery store, or walmart/target those kinds of places. if that doesnt work then try Acne Free, its a 3 step system kind of like Proactiv only for cheaper. its about 15-20$ at Walmart. It will clean your skin and tone it to make it even.


Also, a little beauty tip: if you have a difficult zit, put neosporin on it. it helps it go away faster without leaving a scar! :D

What I do is really simple. Take a clean wash rag, douse it with steaming hot water, then lie it on your face. Leave it there about a few minutes. You can lie down on your bed or whatever, it doesn't take long. Then splash off your face with warm water, using your finger tips to get all the oils off. Lastly, splash with cool water to close up the pores.


Do this every night or so before bed. It should clear up. Also, try scrubbing the areas gently with a warm wash rag in circular motions. Black heads and white heads are just areas that need to open up, blockages. A warm rag will open these areas up... then wash it all away. Well i have a couple of things that are guarinteed to work. they were even tested and shown to improve your acne. Try putting apple cider vinigar on them keep it there for like 15 minutes then wash it off. I saw that in a dr. donihue collum in the news paper. Something else that works it putting a pea sized dab of tooth paiste on each pimple and keeping it there for 15 minutes then washing it off. I saw that in a cosmo magazine. these remedies sre much cheaper then buying proactive or some other face product and thier proven to work
use bacticine..put a little on a cottonball and constantly wipe the area with it....some people say using toothpaste on a pimple will make it go away...it hasnt worked for me but the bacticine works for me..and since i have oily skin..i wipe my face once in a while with acne cleanser..or when its at the oilyest i put a little rubbing alcohol on acne prone areas like my forehead...dont let anything go in ur eyes tho

I use products with glycolic acid, because those with salicylic acid didn't do anything for my skin except dry it out. MD Forte is a product like a moisturizer that you put on after washing your face. To wash, I use a product like Cetaphil and mix in these sand-like crystals I got from the woman who does my facials. I would recommend investing in some of the MD Forte for sure, but getting a facial just to clear out what your skin is currently harboring. 1. Dabbing tea tree oil on the affected area.


2. Making as mask of honey, preferably raw honey, b/c it has antibacterial properties.


3. Crushing an aspririn and using a little water to make a paste for spot treating.


4. Using a toner made of diluted apple cider vinegar and water. It will smell at first, but not when your face dries.





Also, check your diet. It is a myth that bad foods cause acne, however, an inadequate diet of the healthy foods is not going to do your skin any good. Up your fruit and veggie intake and drink a lot of water. Water is needed to carry toxins out of the body so that they don't show up on your face.
Try ORIGINS Modernfriction For The Body. I have the same problem. This stuff is great...u see results immediately and no harsh chemicals. The other good thing is that u don't have to use alot or use it every day. This works for the body best, but I use it on my face once in a while too. I am a Registered Nurse and I specialize in skin care and teen acne.





After 12 years in this profession I find that most of my patients who deal with acne or brekout problems DO NOT SEE RESULTS from commercial products sold at drung stores or the mall. They usually contain too much benzoyl peroxide, salicylic acid or sulfur which tends to OVER DRY the skin and cause itching or irritations.





Also, home remedies such as lemon juice or alcohol or toothpaste SHOULD NEVER BE USED because they cause small tears in the skin and leave the skin more susceptible to bacteria that causes pimples or acne.





Your question is very broad and you need to get professional advice. I will explain why it's a broad question!





Your age plays a role! Do you always have breakouts?





However, acne can result from several factors such an increase in hormone levels. In males testosterone or androgens. In females, androgens respectively. The increase in androgen levels can stimulate the oil glands to become enlarged and thus more oil production is produced. An increased oil production can clog the pores with oil or sebum ( white thick substance) which cause the cell walls of the pores in the skin to breakdown. This process allows bacteria to form and thus breakouts develop.





Genetics may also be a cause. It is a myth that greasy food or chocolate causes breakouts.





However, using make-up sponges that are not changed or washed often can contaminate the pores with bacteria which may develop into acneic breakouts.





Teenagers going through hormonal and growth changes are prone to acne.





If you have severe breakouts than you might need medication. There are many factors.





The most important thing is that you need products that are AGE APPROPRIATE! Every age group has different products appropriate for them. If you are young than you need milder products as to not dry out your beautiful young skin.





The problem with commercial skin products is that they are manufactured for MASSES OF PEOPLE and are not specifically made for different peoples' needs.

It's possible you're allergic to one of the products, or to something else. Since you're 23 and I presume, working or studying, those might also be stress breakouts. Do they ease off or get worse during the weekend?





But given that it's in the T zone, I'd check out the products or my diet. Start by eliminating one product every two weeks and checking the condition of your skin after each elimination.





You could also be using too much of one product or using products that are incompatible.





Foam cleanser: about 1 in in diameter (circle) for each side of face, toner- the cotton ball should not be dripping wet, and the amount of moisturizer should not be bigger than a pea sized amount per side of your face.





What is the gel you use? If it has salycilic acid then you might be reacting to it.

I used proactiv for about six months and it did absolutely nothing for me. All it did was make my skin super dry and my nose peel! I guess the results are different for everyone, but most people I know who have used it did not get results like the commericials.
The products you are using, are they Salsylic Acid or Benzoyl peroxide? BP can be VERY drying. I personally like SA better. Salsylic acid it really good. It is in almost all acne washes. Benzoyl Peroxide is too drying for me! Try finding a face lotion with SA in it. Clean and Clear has a good moisturizer with SA and it helps keep pimples at bay. It is only about $5 a bottle and lasts about 2 months and you can get it at your local store. I have used this in the past and it works well. Personally, I use Biore products (which you get over the counter. Their products range from $5-$10). They are harsh on pimples, but not on your face.


Personally, Proactive didn't work for me. I have been using Biore products for over a year and I hardly ever break out! Occasionally I will get one or two, but nothing bad. I use Biore Ice Cleanser for acne and Biore warming facial scrub every morning for blackheads (This stuff works. I notcied a DRASTIC diffrence in my blackeads being GONE within 2 weeks) . And then 3-4 day s a week I use Biore purging pore cream scrub. For body acne I use Neutrogena acne body wash I never break out on my body. It gets 110 in summer so sweat in inevitably, yet I never break out. Give it a try. All of it is cheap too. About $5-10 depending on what you buy! Salsylic acid it really good. It is in almost all acne washes. Benzoyl Peroxide is too drying for me! I think you will just need to experiment with products until you find what works for you. Remember, it can take 1 month for products to fully begin working! Good Luck!
My personal experience with Proactiv has been of mixed results.





I tried it for the first time when I was about twenty-one years old, and yes, it did do miracles on my skin... but after I couldn't afford the stuff anymore, my skin problems returned with a vengeance that left me mentally stunned upon the haste in which my skin reset and was back to the same old acne problems.





And, I did decide to try it again this year, which came of no good to me. I used the stuff for three months and didn't see any results what-so-ever. My skin felt more moisturized and less oily, but the acne never left... it was like I was using some sort of placebo that didn't work at all.





But, there's more than one option out on the market...





I found some stuff called Acne-Free at a pharmacy which claimed quicker results than Proactiv, and was half the price, so I tried it.





The formula wasn't quite the same as Proactiv. The facial scrub wasn't really a facial scrub... it was more like a lotion that foams up when it's applied to damp skin. It's a benzoyl-peroxide formula, just like Proactiv, but didn't feel like it was scraping my skin, although it was still removing dead skin and was still cleaning my skin.





Acne-Free's version of the skin toner also doesn't burn when applied to the skin, unlike Proactiv's formula. It also doesn't have much of a scent, which I found to be a bonus, because I found Proactiv's solution does have a sort of scent, although I think it's probably just the chemicals the toner's made out of... so that chalks up two for Acne-Free.





And finally, Acne-Free's lotion, applied to the skin after the first two steps is much runnier than Proactiv's, so it doesn't require such a large amount to cover the skin. Proactiv's solution is much thicker, and I never felt like my skin was feeling any better after using it. Of course, this is just personal experience, yours might be different.





Again, this is a benzoyl-peroxide formula which they say is ';time released';, but it needs to be used the same as Proactiv: twice per day, preferably morning and night; if you shower both in the morning and at night, this will be a much easier thing to remember to do.





Again, it's half the price and you can probably buy it at a local pharmacy, so you won't be having to wait for delivery. I would recommend trying Acne-Free first. The results would probably be about the same regardless, so the only thing you really have to lose between the two is twenty bucks... if you go for the Proactiv. There's my opinion, I hope it helps.

My 12 year old daughter decided to use proactiv. She was suffering from mild teenage acne. This acne runs in our family. At 6 she started getting pimples and by 10 she began getting facials for her blackheads. Just this past school year times got hard and she decied to use proativ. In the first night she used it I was her face become brighter. In the first week when her cousins came out they even started to complement her on her skin because they saw such a diffrence. Now she is more confident because of it and the blackheads, pimples that were red and more like big zits went away. I would recomend this product. The only con is that it dose become a little drying and alot of water is need. (drinking alot of water)

As far as I know, its baking soda you want to be using NOT baking powder. (just wanna be clear on that cause baking POWDER is apparently not good for your skin )

All I do it pour about a tablespoon worth of bicarb into my palm, put my other hand under running water, then drip some water into the bicarb and mix it around to form a pastey like solution.

You should use a gentle, daily exfoliant. I keep some in the shower and use it daily. Following the exfoliation, just a gentle deep cleaner. When you're done with the shower, pat your face dry before applying toner with cotton cloths. Afterwards apply a gentle daily moisturizer. If you have stubborn spots that won't go away, dab a little bit of salicylic (sp?) acid on before bed. What you are talking about is dermabrasion.





Dermabrasion is a drastic way to reduce acne scars and to smoothen away wrinkles. The top layer of skin is sloughed off to reveal younger, softer, smoother skin beneath. First, the surgeon applies a local anaesthetic. Then the surgeon uses an abrading instrument to ';sandpaper'; the skin in circular motions.





There is a risk of scarring should the skin be abraded too deeply. In some cases, discolouration can occur. Hence, the surgeon's skill is important. The surgeon has to abrade deep enough to make a difference, but not so deep as to scar the patient.

The products you are using, are they Salsylic Acid or Benzoyl peroxide? BP can be VERY drying. I personally like SA better. Salsylic acid it really good. It is in almost all acne washes. Benzoyl Peroxide is too drying for me! Try finding a face lotion with SA in it. Clean and Clear has a good moisturizer with SA and it helps keep pimples at bay. It is only about $5 a bottle and lasts about 2 months and you can get it at your local store. I have used this in the past and it works well. Personally, I use Biore products (which you get over the counter. Their products range from $5-$10). They are harsh on pimples, but not on your face.


Personally, Proactive didn't work for me. I have been using Biore products for over a year and I hardly ever break out! Occasionally I will get one or two, but nothing bad. I use Biore Ice Cleanser for acne and Biore warming facial scrub every morning for blackheads (This stuff works. I notcied a DRASTIC diffrence in my blackeads being GONE within 2 weeks) . And then 3-4 day s a week I use Biore purging pore cream scrub. For body acne I use Neutrogena acne body wash I never break out on my body. It gets 110 in summer so sweat in inevitably, yet I never break out. Give it a try. All of it is cheap too. About $5-10 depending on what you buy! Salsylic acid it really good. It is in almost all acne washes. Benzoyl Peroxide is too drying for me! I think you will just need to experiment with products until you find what works for you. Remember, it can take 1 month for products to fully begin working! Good Luck!
If you are having problem that showering cannot handle or standard OTC creams.. Check with a actual dermatologist. He can look to see how bad, and might have some prescription stuff you can use that is a bit stronger than OTC.

I've had one little one next to the bridge of my nose for over a year now, no one notices it but me, but it makes me crazy. I have tried facial masks, all types. Scrubs, squeezing it! Picking it with a needle, all to no avail! It seems to finally be shrinking thou, I have been dousing it with Retin A. and that seems to be doing the trick.

so basically you just have to find some way to open up your pores, pull out the whitehead, and then make sure you wash your face really well so that no dirt gets in the pore.

Good luck getting it cleared up. Definately don't pick at it %26amp; be careful with squeezing to. You'll end up with horrible scars. Trust me, I have some on my check. The people that reviewed the Correct Fade %26amp; Peel pads said that their scars %26amp; red spots were fading. I hope I'm so lucky!!!
if you go to any drug store i am pretty sure in the beauty aisle there will be this little metal thing, is has two metal loops, one on each end, and you just press the loop over a white head and it will come out with out using your hands, which can add grease and oil
Use some acne cream. I suggest ';Oil- Free Acne Wash Cream Cleanser.'; It is from Neutrogena. It is in an orange bottle, and it works REALLY well!!! I have used it a ton for my whiteheads. It is dermatologist reccomended.

It is caused by acidity and oil from being in the teen years. I think a quick and cheap remedy is to use a mild deodorant soap my friend.
