Whats the difference between blackheads and whiteheads?

I get a lotta white heads on my forehead, heard that teh are an inflammation of teh hair follicle, instead of the pore. Is this true?Whats the difference between blackheads and whiteheads?
Whiteheads are closed so the air can't get to them and color the pus black.

Blackheads are open to the air so they have a reaction with the oxygen and turn black.

black heads have dirt in them and white heads are infected and the pus (white stuff) is the result of your body fighting the infection.
Yeah very true. Blackheads are a result of infection otherwise whiteheads as it is are non reactive. You can use a cream with retinoic acid to get rid of it.
Blackheads are hardened sebum which blacken with exposure to the air and are embedded deep into the pores. Check out http://useinfo-blackhead.blogspot.com/ for more useful tips to control blackheads.
