How do you get rid of blackheads/whiteheads permanently?

It keeps on coming back concentrated solely on my nose.

I use nose pack but its not much of a help.

I do clean my face thoroughly but why does this happen? How do you get rid of blackheads/whiteheads permanently?
blackhead and whitehead is bacteria (propionibacterium acnes) growing in a plugged follicle. Benzoyl peroxide medication kills this bacteria well. Benzoyl peroxide first saw use in the 1930's, and remains a mainstay of acne treatment because it has proven itself to work well. To this day, benzoyl peroxide actually kills propionibacterium acnes (P. Acnes) better than any other medication on the market, prescription or otherwise. What I found is that you simply have to use enough of it. Smear a bunch of it on and you will start clearing up. Sounds simple and it is. Unlike other prescription medications, skin usually does not get worse before it gets better on benzoyl peroxide. Also, unlike antibiotics used in the treatment of acne, it is impossible for your skin to develop a tolerance to benzoyl peroxide. If it works at first, it will always work.

Irritation of the skin can aggravate acne, and should be avoided. The Clear Skin Regimen is not just about 2.5% benzoyl peroxide, it is also about how you treat your skin. The exact science of what causes pimples is not known. It is known, however, that irritation can make it worse. As long as you are not picking at your face, scrubbing it with a harsh washcloth, or otherwise irritating it, your skin is primed for benzoyl peroxide. I will talk more about what causes irritation and how to avoid it in the coming pages. Because an effective acne regimen requires a non-irritated face, if your skin is already irritated from the medication you are currently using, it may be a good idea to give your skin a few days to get back to normal before embarking on this regimen.

There are many good gentle cleansers on the market. Look for a cleanser made specifically for the face that does not overdry. You want something that cleanses but does not strip the skin. Avoid using bath soap on your face.

you use as much benzoyl peroxide as I recommend you will need a moisturizer so you can keep your skin from becoming overly dry. It is vitally important that you begin moisturizing from day one on the regimen, even if your skin doesn't seem to need it at first. Moisturizing will help keep your skin in balance and will help prevent some of the initial drying/reddening effects of benzoyl peroxide.

My favorite moisturizer is Eucerin Skin Renewal which contains lactic acid, a gentle alpha hydroxy acid. No other moisturizer comes close to its ability to prevent flakiness. Some people experience stinging with this moisturizer at the onset of the regimen. If this happens, wait a couple of weeks before using it. After a couple of weeks your skin should be accustomed to benzoyl peroxide and will be ready for a low percentage lactic acid moisturizer.

Several studies show that a 2.5% benzoyl peroxide solution actually works better than the overdrying 10% solutions. So why are most of the benzoyl peroxide medications on the market in 10% strength? Because this is the legal limit for over-the-counter benzoyl peroxide and marketers know that people will always buy ';maximum strength'; if they can. However, in the case of benzoyl peroxide, maximum strength gels and creams are not as effective as their lower strength counterparts. As it turns out, 2.5% benzoyl peroxide is just as effective in killing acne bacteria as the higher concentrations. With 2.5% you get all the beneficial effects of benzoyl peroxide without the excess irritation that can make acne worse.

Even at this low percentage, it may take your face a couple of weeks to get used to benzoyl peroxide. For this reason, it is extremely important to slowly ramp up the dosage over the first few weeks on the regimen. If you have sensitive skin, start with one application per day for the first week.

A word of caution: about 1-3% of people are allergic to benzoyl peroxide and experience severe swelling and/or crusting. You may want to test a spot on your skin first. Also, benzoyl peroxide can bleach fabrics. Be careful about getting it on clothing that you love.

Tip: after you have squeezed out everything in the tube, you can still cut it in half and get quite a bit more out with your finger.

Redness, scaling, blotchiness and itching frequently occur at the onset of a benzoyl peroxide regimen and subside over a period of days or weeks. Dermatologists call this the ';well-known hardening effect'; of benzoyl peroxide. This redness and dryness will subside within the first few weeks. Many people have reported that they wanted to quit because of this initial discomfort, and say that they are grateful that they stuck it out.

Although you may not be able to avoid the hardening effect of benzoyl peroxide, you can lessen it by starting slowly. If you are new to benzoyl peroxide, it is extremely important that you start with a small amount of benzoyl peroxide to prevent uncomfortable dryness and peeling. Start with a small amount and apply only once per day for the first week. Apply twice daily after the first week and gradually increase the dosage of benzoyl peroxide over the first month.

The regimen should be followed precisely as outlined. I can not make this point strongly enough. Print it out and take it into the bathroom with you. Make sure to watch the videos a few times as well. It is natural to want to experiment, because you have likely been burnt before by empty promises. But try to trust the method outlined below. If you follow the regimen strictly, you should experience dramatic clearing. How do you get rid of blackheads/whiteheads permanently?
wash your face
go to a good beautician for a facial with extractions. If they dont do extractions find a new one. Dont pick at the pimples with your fingers - that will cause infection more than you can imagine. With whiteheads popping is a risk because youll often pop half of it back into under the skin and 5 more will appear around the area. Make sure you use a good cleanser (always the same one so your skin can adjust to it) and moisturise after getting out (always the same one again) which will prevent bacteria being able to get into pores easily. You might need a grainy cleaser to use on the nose only as the skin is tougher there and can handle it.

But first get a facial so you can start with a clean slate.
go get a facial in the parlour...
don know
stop washing in chip pan fat !!!
black heads and white heads are caused when pores are blocked. Ignore what other people have said so far as they are not caused bt how much you wash your face, but by dead skin cells blocking your pores.

Try an exfoliating scrub and something with 5% benzoyl peroxide in it. Benzoyl peroxide breaks down dead skin cells therefore unblocking pores and no black or whiteheads! Good Luck!
douse your head in gasoline. light match. guaranteed.
The only way you can get rid of them properly is to wash your face daily with soap and water. Use an organic soap and reasonably hot water, which will open your pores and help get any dirt and grease out, then when you've rinsed your face, splash it with cold water to close the pores. This will help keep dirt out.
